Green Sydney - a green events and venues city

Business Events Sydney (BESydney) celebrates and supports Sydney’s ‘clean, green’ reputation. Increasingly, our local and State Governments are proving their commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), and we are proud of our members’ CSR activities.

Environmentally friendly city - green conference venues

Sydney has long enjoyed a reputation for being a clean green city, a big incentive for eco-friendly conference, event and business meeting planners.

The environmentally friendly, renewable and sustainable practices our citizens, business community and local governments help protect our natural environment and communities.

Our commitment to green events in eco-friendly venues

BESydney fully supports the Green Meetings Industry Council’s 2020 agenda for what should comprise a ‘green meeting’. These are conferences, events, incentives and meetings that:

  • Have zero net environmental effect
  • Fully integrate environmental responsibility into return-on-investment (ROI) analysis
  • Are accepted and standard industry practice
  • Achieve economic and strategic business goals
  • Minimise or eliminate environmental impacts, and
  • Positively contribute to the environment and host communities

Carbon offsetting delegate travel to Sydney

While flying produces less than 3% of greenhouse-gas emissions, Business Events Sydney encourage event planners to offer delegates voluntary 'carbon offset' schemes when visiting Sydney.

This allows your visitors to compensate for carbon emissions associated with their travel.

Business Events Sydney is committed to green

Many of our stakeholders are committed to continually improve the sustainability of their venues and practices. At BESydney offices, we always look to reduce our own impact on the environment, while contributing positively to our local communities.
