World Conference on Lung Cancer, 2013
Sydney won the right to host the 2013 World Conference on Lung Cancer in June 2008 following almost eight years of campaigning by Business Events Sydney (BESydney). The conference is expected to attract 8,000 delegates to Sydney and is estimated to be worth $19.2 million to the local economy. Read more about the World Conference on Lung Cancer.
World Youth and Student Travel Conference, 2013
The conference, secured by, Business Events Sydney (BESydney) and the local organising committee, will generate $5.4 million in economic impact for the State and attract more than 800 delegates from 80 countries who offer products or services to travellers in their teens, 20s and early 30s. IUCN World Parks Congress, 2014
Business Events Sydney (BESydney) secured the IUCN World Parks Congress for Sydney in 2014. The event, to be held at Sydney Olympic Park, is set to attract 3,000 delegates and inject around $24 million into the local economy.
Held only once every 10 years, the event win is a huge coup for Australia and represents an outstanding opportunity to profile the nation’s impressive conservation achievements and expertise to the world. Read more about the IUCN World Parks Congress.
