Gala event: International Congress on Obesity
What do you do for food and cocktails when the entire event your party supports is about obesity? Professional conference organiser, ICMS Australasia’s answer was to showcase fresh, healthy food, making the event as much about education as celebration.
Production management company, Great Southern E-vents, brought the vision and creative concept to life with their proven logistic and site-management skills.
Brief
Host a party for more than 2,500 guests to celebrate the International Congress on Obesity in 2006, presenting the key message that "healthy eating is about making the right and informed choices."
Theme
Modelled on the Sydney Royal Easter Show Produce Hall, an enormous display of fresh fruit was created which guests were invited to eat. The display branched off into ‘Willy Wonka’-style lines that led guests towards either fresh fruit or wine and cheese bars.
Catering
Twenty different custom-designed food and beverage stations were installed across three rooms, in which all the food was hand-made and cooked fresh.
