Bid Executive

 

Yvonne joins Business Events Sydney (BESydney) with extensive knowledge within the tourism industry.


After completing the Higher School Certificate, Yvonne went to experience the world, starting in China. Initially planned for one year, it soon became three years, as she engaged herself in the lifestyle, working at Sofitel Boao and Sofitel Xanadu Hangzhou, as Guest Relations Officer and Duty Manager.


During her time in China, Yvonne was specially requested by the Australian Embassy in Beijing to be the official liaison to the Australian Prime Minister’s delegation for three consecutive annual forums. The role propelled her to a promotion to become the Front Office Duty Manager at the age of 22.


The experience developed Yvonne’s love for the tourism industry, in which upon returning to Sydney, she undertook a major in Hotel Management at the Hotel School at Southern Cross University. Throughout these studies, she continued employment with Sofitel Sydney Wentworth.


Yvonne’s strong interpersonal skills helped her choose the event Tourism industry as it provides an arena to meet new people and network with people from all over the world. She is fluent in three languages, including Mandarin and enjoys the challenge and benefits of learning new languages.


Yvonne believes that there truly is nowhere in the world that beats Sydney’s friendly people, fresh air, incredible beaches, weekend markets and the delicious food. She loves taking the ferry across the Harbour bearing witness of the jewels of Sydney, reminding us of what a great city we live in.


Through her love of Sydney, and worldly experiences, Yvonne brings a fresh and dynamic mind to the BESydney team as the Bid Executive.
