"I grew up in the sunny United Kingdom where I studied office administration and Information Technology. I wasn’t 100% sure of the career that I wanted but I did know that I wanted to be in a busy office and sales environment, which is definitely my work environment now, and I love it!
"My background is mainly in the hotel industry and I have held jobs in sales administration, as a National Account Support Manager and as an Agency Sales Support Manager. Whilst these involved a variety of duties I was mainly involved with organising and coordinating a range of corporate events from quad biking to black tie events. It was fun and challenging to find new and exciting types of events.
"I joined Business Events Sydney (BESydney) in mid 2006 as Business Development Manager of the UK and Europe regions. I find BESydney an appealing organisation to work for because I had enjoyed my role in the small scale hotel conferences, and was excited about the new prospect of working with large international events.
"The fact that it is to promote such an outstanding city like Sydney is just the icing on the cake.
"The most successful and memorable event I have organised was a weekend in London for 200 agents from all over the UK. The weekend included hotel site inspections, a gala dinner event and loads of other fun activities. Everyone enjoyed themselves and it was a great success.
"Over the years I have tried many different activities from badminton to bowling and have discovered that my passion is Ceroc, which is a French Latin jive. I love the dance so much that I have gone away for dancing weekends around the UK with other like-minded dancers. I also love travelling, meeting new people and learning about other cultures.
"In my opinion the best thing about Sydney is its vibrant cosmopolitan feel, especially around Darling Harbour and The Rocks.”
